The Golden Swan

There was a swan of pure gold resting upon the blacktop. People stared at it, again wondering what was in the envelope the swan held in it's mouth. One boy stared at the majestic swan for over an hour, then turned home to feed his frog, Hoppy (Sorry about the name it was a little kid).

When the boy got home, Hoppy was gone. He searched throughout the whole house, with help from his mom, but found no trace of the tiny little frog. Hoppy was gone forever.

The next morning the boy came to the golden swan again. A legend said that whoever strokes the envelope in a time of need will be granted one wish. The boy stroked the envelope, and the swan opened its beak and let it fall into the boy's hands. He opened the envelope and there was Hoppy, and three other frogs! Suddenly the majestic swan took flight, spiraling across the sky that was golden from sunrise. The boy realized something. When Hoppy had gone, he had not died, he had found a family. Hoppy and the other frogs were happy here. What other conclusion could he come to? A tear dripped down the boy's cheek.
The swan swept down and grabbed the boy with its feet, took him up to the heavens, then dropped him. As he fell he transformed, and to this very day the two swans roam the heavens, searching for people in need.
